How long will the Foundations in Agricultural Management course be available?

We hope Canadian Farmers will be able to take advantage of this free course for years to come.

Is there a fee to take the University of Guelph's Foundations in Agricultural Management course?

No, the course is offered free of charge, by University of Guelph, in collaboration with RBC Future Launch & Farm Credit Canada.

How long is the course?

The course consists of eight unique modules which can be completed in any order. The course is designed so that participants can learn at their own pace, meaning the course can take as little or as long as you need to absorb the content and pass the end-of-module quizzes. Each module should take 15-20 minutes, on average, to complete.

Can I communicate directly with the University of Guelph professors?

The University of Guelph professors who teach this course do so via pre-recorded video seminars. Unfortunately, it is not possible to communicate with the professors directly about the course content.

Do I need to complete the modules in order?

No, the modules can be completed in any order but you must complete all modules to receive the certificate.

Registration

Who can take this course?

This course is open and available to all Canadians. There is no age restriction on the course content, and the content covered is designed to support farmers from all sectors of Canadian agriculture.

I’m not a University of Guelph Student, can I still register for the course?

Absolutely! The University of Guelph Foundations in Agricultural Management is open to everyone. All you need is access to a computer, tablet or smart mobile phone.

Are there any prerequisites to the University of Guelph Foundations in Agricultural Management?

Before starting the course, all you need is time & motivation to dedicate towards improving your knowledge on this subject matter.

Certification

Is this an official certificate from University of Guelph that I can list on my resume?

Yes. You will receive an official Course Certificate of Completion that you are welcome to share on your resume. The course does not count towards any University of Guelph program, degree, diploma or certificate.

How do I add my University of Guelph Foundations in Agricultural Management Certificate of Completion to my LinkedIn Profile?

The Credential ID and URL fields are not necessary for adding the course to your LinkedIn profile. Simply type in University of Guelph Foundations in Agricultural Management in the Issuing Organization field, click “This Credential Does Not Expire”, and that’s all there is!

Tests

What are the module tests?

The tests are made up of a series of multiple choice, true/ false and fill in the blanks designed to test your understanding and knowledge of the materials covered in that module.

What score do I need to pass the course?

All participants must obtain at least 75% on each module in order to progress to the next module.

If I don’t meet the required score of 75%, can I take the quiz again?

Yes, if you don’t obtain 75% on a quiz you are welcome to re-take the quiz as often as you need to in order to pass.

Do I need a broadband or high-speed connection to follow the Foundations in Agricultural Management course?

A high speed internet connection is highly recommended, especially for viewing the videos.

Can this course be accessed from anywhere?

Due to technical & legal limits, this course is accessible from most, but not all, geographic locations outside Canada.

What internet browsers support the University of Guelph Foundations in Agricultural Management course?

In order for your internet browser to run the course, Javascript and cookies will both need to be set to “enabled” in your computer settings. If those pre-requisites are met than any of the following browsers support the course:

○ Safari: version 12+
○ Microsoft Edge: version 44+

Can I complete the modules using my mobile device?

Yes, you can complete this course on your computer, tablet or mobile device.

Can I use a mobile device to access the course content?

Yes, a smart mobile device, either connected to WiFi or cellular connection, can be used to view the content and take each of the module tests.

Can I re-use the material from the course?

You can view the material as many times as you like during the course session, but you will not be able to download the course materials or access them once your course session has ended.
